As Atlantic Canada’s largest manufacturer of recycled wood pallets, Pallet Depot’s business model encompasses the definition of an environmentally centered operation. Over the past several years, Pallet Depot has invested in and integrated automation to minimize waste and to maximize useable wood pallet components for the production of new recycled pallets.
Automation includes:
- Automated paint line and automated pallet repair line
- Wood Grinding Equipment for production of landscape mulch, biofuel and bedding materials
- Nailing and Assembly Machine
- Nail roller
- Pallet Dismantler and Urban Sawmill which together greatly reduce the number of pallets sent to landfill and greatly increase the amount of usable components, in turn increasing the production of new recycled pallets
- Kiln which produces heat treated pallets that are an ever- increasing necessity for the export market and are an environmental essential for export customers
Pallet Depot continually strives to have a more eco-conscious business model both at the manufacturing level and at the internal operational level. Pallet Depot also works to educate their customer base on the use of recycled, refurbished and rebuilt pallets which contain 100% or a high percentage of recycled components. These pallets are 100% as useable and reliable as new pallets but the perception of lower quality or performance is often difficult to overcome. Environmental consciousness and stewardship is top-of-mind at Pallet Depot. Pallet Depot is a proud member of Green Economy New Brunswick.
For our leadership in the environment field Pallet Depot was the proud winner of the 2021 Chamber of Commerce of Greater Moncton Business Excellence Award in the Environmental Excellence Category.

A significant proportion of bulk mulch available for sale to consumers in Southeastern New Brunswick is a result of our recycling efforts.
We manufacture and/or repair well over one million pallets per year. The amount of potential waste is significant; therefore we are committed to minimizing our environmental footprint through repurposing and recycling. Even the nails and other metal parts of pallets are reused or sold as scrap metal for recycling.
